My garden this year has hollyhocks. Alcea is the latin name. They take a couple of years of growing before they bloom. These were started late last summer in a pot and then I transplanted them in the fall. They reseed themselves readily, I would consider them a perennial. In my garden tallest hollyhock is at least 8 feet, and the smallest is three feet. Mostly pink flowers and one yellow with pink. They produce different colors of flowers depending on pollination. They can be white, red, pink, purple, magenta, yellow, orange and all the variety that pollination can come up with. The flowers in my garden are pinks ranging in pale to dark magenta hues. I am hoping to make them a permanent part of my garden.

These hollyhocks were started from seeds that my friend shared with me. She collected hers from a favorite garden. I will have seeds to share in a little while, if you would like some seeds for your garden let me know and I will send you some.
Thank you for your visit. So happy you stopped by. Until next time...

You gave always had such beautiful gardens. Not just the flowers, but the features you added to your gardens, Your landscaping encouraged contemplation and appreciation for the beauty all around us. I would love to plant some Leah Hollyhocks.
